I got back to my hostel room to mug the photocopy of Tamanna's Ecology notes. Tamanna always did that for me - make copious notes during the lectures for all subjects, which were photocopied later and they were officially the only study material I followed during exams. Having a girlfriend helps at times, academically as well, if you are ready to put in the effort that is.
Her handwriting was, no wonder, impeccable. Even the timeworn and dysfunctional Xerox machine at Kajal Xerox Shop could do little to mar her natural craft.
Due to her no-gtalk-calls-during-exams policy, I had nothing much to do apart from mugging the various environmental acts and laws implemented by the Government of India. It had not been long when suddenly there was a huge thud on my hostel door.
"Khol Saaley.. Din bhar gtalk pe hi laga rehta hai.." demanded a voice which sounded much like Harish. I obliged fearing that the gorillalike built of Harish could easily tear apart my door.
" What were you doing man? Why did it take you so long? "
Frankly speaking, it had not been long. I was anyways least interested in the EE notes to try to ignore anyone knocking on my already fragile hostel door, let alone a 6 feet tall brawny guy.
" I was doing nothing.... just checking up the syllabus for tomorrow. It seems huge. Wonder how am I gonna scrape through this !"
" Ab shuru karega tou koi fayda nai hai.. its just a few hours to the paper and the syllabus is gigantic ! isliye bolta hun pehle se padha kar !"
" What do you mean ? Tum sale pehle se padh rahe ho kya..." I was surprised. If there ever was the biggest Bummer trophy in my branch, Andy and Harish would always give me a tough fight.
"check this out!Andy and I have clicked every page of the notes using my mobile camera. Now I just need to zoom during the exams! If you cant work hard, work smart !"
I looked with despair at my wretched Nokia 1100. Wish my dad was also an NRI from Kuwait.
" Good going dude! Now would you let the less smart work hard so that they manage to pass! "
